Operator
Edgery - Mission Evangelists, PS, a Virginia limited liability company, doing business as HARK.
Spotsylvania, VA 22551
Privacy contact: support@harktime.com
HARK is designed to be local-first and privacy-conscious. Your private listening-prayer sessions, journal entries, prayer notes, impressions, discernment notes, mindmaps, and reflections are intended to remain on your device unless you choose to use AI features, create an account, sync/share content, publish to Community, share with a Circle, contact support, or otherwise intentionally submit information through the Service.
01HARK handles sensitive spiritual and personal content
HARK is a faith-based listening-prayer companion. The content you enter may reveal sensitive information about your spiritual life, religious or philosophical beliefs, grief, relationships, health, emotions, family, work, finances, or other personal circumstances.
We do not require you to enter sensitive information to use the Service. You decide what to write, save, share, or submit. When you choose to submit session content for AI insights, share content with a Circle, or post content to Community, you are choosing to transmit that content outside your device for the purposes described in this Policy.
HARK is not a medical, mental-health, counseling, therapy, emergency, or crisis service. HARK is not designed to diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage any disease, condition, or mental-health concern.
02Summary of our privacy posture
We designed HARK around the following commitments:
- Local-first by default. Core private session content is stored on your device unless you intentionally enable or use a feature that sends it elsewhere.
- No sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
- No targeted advertising. We do not use your session, journal, prayer, or spiritual content for targeted advertising.
- No third-party advertising trackers. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers unless we update this Policy and obtain legally required consent.
- AI is optional. AI features require user action and can be turned off.
- No AI training by HARK. We do not use your private session content to train HARK-owned AI models.
- No divine authority claim. AI outputs are only automated reflections based on the content you submit; they do not speak for God.
03Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use HARK.
Information stored locally on your device
The following information may be stored locally on your device:
- Session notes, impressions, reflections, discernment checks, mindmaps, journal entries, prayer diary entries, "Ask the Impossible" entries, action items, and session history
- Track progress, streaks, total session minutes, preferences, session duration, persona settings, listening style, app settings, and AI on/off preferences
- Local profile information such as name, bio, and profile photo when stored locally
- Music and ambient-sound preferences
- Incomplete session recovery data
Local-only data is not accessible to HARK unless you submit it through an online feature, share it, contact support with it, include it in a bug report, or enable a future sync/backup feature.
Account and profile information
If you create an account or use account-based features, we may collect:
- Email address
- Authentication identifiers, including Sign in with Apple relay identifiers where applicable
- Password credentials handled through our authentication provider; HARK does not intend to store plain-text passwords
- Display name, bio, profile photo, preferences, subscription status, and account settings
- Circle membership, invitations, blocked users, and user safety settings
Session content submitted to AI
When you choose to generate AI insights, we may process the content needed to provide that feature, such as:
- Session notes, impressions, reflections, discernment responses, journal prompts, selected scripture text, intentions, life context, listening style, persona, session mode, track, and session metadata
- The resulting AI-generated reflection, letter, summary, suggested action items, journal prompt, or carry card
We only process this content for AI features when you choose to use the AI feature or have AI enabled and trigger the relevant action.
Circle and Community content
If you use Circle or Community features, we may collect and store:
- Content you post, share, react to, comment on, report, or save
- Prayer requests, testimonies, wins, confirmations, "Listened" posts, and related metadata
- Whether a post is anonymous, named, private to a Circle, or visible to a broader Community area
- Moderation reports, block lists, user safety events, and enforcement actions
Even where a feature allows anonymity within the app, we may retain backend information needed for abuse prevention, security, moderation, legal compliance, and account integrity.
Subscription and purchase information
If you purchase a subscription or in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the applicable app store processes your payment information. HARK does not collect or store your full payment card details for app-store purchases. We may receive and store transaction identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status, product purchased, renewal state, expiration date, refund status, app-store receipt data, RevenueCat entitlement data, and related information needed to provide paid features. If HARK later offers web or other non-app-store purchases, Stripe or another payment processor may process payment information subject to its own terms and privacy policy.
Support, communications, and feedback
If you contact us, respond to a survey, join a beta, submit feedback, or communicate with us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, message content, attachments, screenshots, support history, and any information you choose to provide
- Feedback, feature requests, testimonials, reviews, or bug reports
- Communications metadata such as date, time, and delivery status
Diagnostics, crash reports, analytics, and logs
Depending on your settings and the app version, we may collect:
- Crash reports, stack traces, device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, and technical diagnostics
- Product analytics events such as session_started, session_completed, paywall_viewed, AI_generation_requested, or settings_changed
- Server logs such as timestamp, route, response code, IP address, user agent, request metadata, performance data, and abuse-prevention signals
We design analytics to avoid collecting session text, journal text, prayer text, impressions, or private spiritual content. However, technical providers may process limited device and network information to deliver, secure, and improve the Service.
For launch, crash reporting is on by default with an in-app opt-out, and product analytics are off by default unless you opt in.
Notifications
If you enable push notifications or reminders, we, OneSignal, Firebase, Expo, Apple, Google, or similar notification providers may process device notification tokens, reminder preferences, delivery status, and related metadata. You can disable notifications in the app settings or your device settings.
Website data
When you visit our website, we may collect basic website logs, device/browser information, pages viewed, referral URLs, form submissions, and email signup information. If we use cookies or similar technologies, we will describe them in this Policy or a cookie notice where required.
04Information we do not intend to collect
Unless we clearly ask and you choose to provide it, HARK does not intend to collect:
- Precise GPS location
- Contacts
- Calendar data
- Microphone recordings
- Camera access or photos, except an optional profile photo or images you intentionally upload
- Government identifiers
- Full payment card numbers
- Advertising identifiers for targeted advertising
- Biometric identifiers for uniquely identifying you
If a future feature requires one of these categories, we will request permission and update our disclosures as required.
05How we use information
We may use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- Save your preferences, sessions, account settings, and subscription entitlements
- Generate AI insights when you request them
- Enable Circle, Community, prayer, testimony, and sharing features
- Moderate content, enforce rules, investigate abuse, and protect users
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Send service-related messages, account notices, security alerts, legal notices, and product updates
- Debug crashes, monitor reliability, secure the Service, prevent fraud, and detect misuse
- Analyze aggregate usage trends and improve product experience
- Comply with law, legal process, and regulatory obligations
- Protect HARK, Edgery - Mission Evangelists, PS, users, partners, vendors, and the public
We do not use your private session content, prayer notes, journal entries, or spiritual reflections for targeted advertising.
07AI processing
HARK may offer optional AI features that generate reflections, summaries, letters, prompts, action items, and other content based on what you submit.
When you use AI features:
- AI is optional and requires user opt-in or a user-initiated AI action.
- Your submitted content may be sent through HARK infrastructure, including Cloudflare Workers, to Anthropic Claude.
- We may include relevant user-provided spiritual content, journal content, life context, preferences, session mode, selected scripture text, and session metadata to make the output more useful.
- The AI provider returns generated output to the app.
- HARK stores AI responses locally on your device unless you choose to share, sync, export, contact support with, or otherwise submit the AI output through an online feature.
- HARK does not use your private session content to train HARK-owned AI models.
- Based on current commercial API provider terms, Anthropic states that it does not use commercial API inputs or outputs to train models by default. HARK intends to use appropriate commercial/API terms, data-processing terms, and retention settings with Anthropic. If our AI provider, plan, or retention setting changes, we will update our disclosures where required.
- AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or spiritually unhelpful. You should use human judgment, Scripture, trusted community, and professional support where appropriate.
You can turn off AI features in the app settings. Turning off AI stops future AI submissions, but it does not automatically delete AI outputs already saved locally or shared by you.
08User-generated content, Circle, and Community
Community and Circle features are optional. You are responsible for what you share.
- Circle. Content you share with a Circle is visible to the people in that Circle and may include fields you choose to share. Nothing should be shared automatically without your selection.
- Community. Testimonies, prayer requests, wins, confirmations, and other posts may be visible to other users depending on the feature settings.
- Anonymous features. Anonymous posting hides your display name from other users where supported, but it is not a guarantee of legal, technical, or operational anonymity from HARK, vendors, or lawful requests.
- Deletion. You may delete your authored content where the Service supports deletion. We cannot control copies, screenshots, cached content, exports, or content saved by other users before deletion.
- Moderation and safety tools. We may review, remove, restrict, or preserve content for safety, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or enforcement of our Terms. Community features are expected to include tools to report posts or users, block users, delete your own posts where supported, and contact HARK about moderation concerns at support@harktime.com.
09Legal bases for processing where required
Where laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws require a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract: to provide the Service and features you request
- Consent: for AI processing, analytics where required, marketing emails, push notifications, and processing of sensitive content where required
- Legitimate interests: to secure, debug, improve, protect, and operate the Service in a way that does not override your rights
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and legal process
- Vital interests / public interest: in rare situations involving urgent safety or legal concerns
Because HARK content may reveal religious or philosophical beliefs or other sensitive information, we rely on your explicit consent where required for processing that sensitive content, especially when you choose to transmit it for AI, sharing, Community, sync, or support.
10Data retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
General retention practices:
- Local-only data: remains on your device until you delete it, delete your account where applicable, use an in-app deletion tool, clear app data, or uninstall the app. If iCloud/device backups are enabled, your device provider may retain backup copies according to its settings.
- Account data: retained while your account remains active and for a limited period afterward for backup, fraud prevention, legal, accounting, security, and enforcement purposes.
- Community and Circle content: retained while posted/shared and for a limited period after deletion where needed for safety, backup, legal, dispute, or abuse-prevention purposes.
- AI submissions: HARK does not intend to store AI request bodies longer than needed to return the response, unless needed for abuse prevention, debugging with your permission, security, legal compliance, or a future feature you enable. AI providers may have their own retention practices under applicable agreements.
- Crash reports: generally retained for up to 90 days unless needed longer for security, abuse, or legal reasons.
- Analytics: generally retained for up to 12 months, then aggregated, de-identified, or deleted where feasible.
- Support messages: retained as long as needed to respond, maintain records, improve support, and protect legal interests.
- Legal/security records: retained as long as necessary to comply with law, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or protect rights.
11Account deletion and data deletion
If HARK supports account creation, the app must also allow you to initiate account deletion from within the app.
You may request deletion by using the in-app account deletion flow or contacting support@harktime.com from the email associated with your account. Deleting your account may not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play Store subscription; you must cancel subscriptions through the applicable app-store account settings unless the app store provides another mechanism.
After an account deletion request, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account within a reasonable period, subject to legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, accounting, dispute, and safety exceptions.
12Your choices
Depending on the feature and your location, you may be able to:
- Use HARK without creating an account where account-based features are not required
- Turn AI features on or off
- Turn analytics on or off where available
- Turn diagnostics/crash reporting on or off where available
- Manage push notifications in device settings
- Delete local sessions, prayer entries, journal entries, or posts where supported
- Delete your account
- Request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection where required by law
- Opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us
13Privacy rights by location
United States state privacy rights
Depending on where you live and whether HARK meets the legal thresholds for a particular state privacy law, you may have rights to:
- Know or confirm whether we process personal information about you
- Access personal information
- Correct inaccuracies
- Delete personal information
- Obtain a portable copy of personal information you provided
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or certain profiling
- Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information where applicable
- Appeal a decision we make about a privacy request, where applicable
HARK does not sell personal information and does not use private session content for targeted advertising.
California privacy notice
If the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), applies to HARK, California residents may have rights to know, access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
Categories of personal information we may collect are described in this Policy and may include identifiers, account information, internet or device information, commercial/subscription information, user-generated content, sensitive personal information you choose to provide, and inferences/preferences related to app experience.
We do not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (sometimes called "targeted advertising"). If HARK later integrates advertising pixels, conversion trackers, or attribution tools from third parties such as Meta, Google, or similar advertising platforms, we will update this Policy with the specific recipients and purposes, honor recognized opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control where required, provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on this website or in the app, and provide any other opt-out mechanism required by applicable law before such sharing begins.
Virginia privacy notice
If the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act applies to HARK, Virginia residents may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, opt out of targeted advertising/sale/certain profiling, and appeal a denied request. We will obtain consent before processing sensitive data where required.
EU/EEA/UK privacy notice
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Where HARK processes special category data, such as data revealing religious or philosophical beliefs, we rely on explicit consent or another applicable legal basis and Article 9 condition where required.
How to submit a request
Email support@harktime.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
14Children and minors
HARK is intended for adults. HARK is not directed to children under 13 and should not be used by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
For launch, HARK does not permit users under 18 to create accounts, use Community, use Circle, submit content to AI, purchase subscriptions, or use sharing features. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without required parental consent, we will delete it. If we learn that a person under 18 is using adult-only features, we may delete or restrict the account and associated content.
15Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include encryption in transit, authentication controls, access restrictions, logging, monitoring, and vendor security measures.
No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, passcode, account credentials, screenshots, exports, shared content, and backups.
16International transfers
HARK is operated by a U.S.-based company and may be available worldwide. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our vendors operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
17Third-party links and services
The Service may link to third-party websites, resources, music platforms, scripture sources, app stores, or support resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. Review their privacy policies before providing information.
18Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the app and/or on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law, which may include in-app notice, email notice, or other reasonable methods.
